Dog Jingle Thursday - The Contest

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

als_grill.jpgI mentioned last week that I was going to come up with a jingle for Stella’s new treat - Al’s Grill Smoky Riblets - but I haven’t gotten the feel of the song just yet to make it any good. So, here’s the idea…

I want to hear what YOU think an Al’s Grill Smoky Riblets jingle needs to sound like. Come up with a ten second jingle in whatever style you feel appropriate and email a 128kbps MP3 file to dogjingle AT 3rdmartini DOT com by 12:01am on December 15th, 2007. I will determine the top three submissions and will place them on the web site for the public to vote. The winner as of 12:01am December 22nd, 2007 will win a $25.00 Petsmart gift card.

Sound good? Get to recording.

Dog Jingle Thursday - Twofer

smoot.jpgSince I was preoccupied with Guitar Hero III last week and didn’t make it into the basement to “work on my sound,” I missed last week’s Dog Jingle Thursday.

But, I make it up to you this time with two… TWO dog treat jingles. Yes, I can feel your excitement from here.

First up, a little something snappy I’d sing when we had a bag of Freshy Breath Treats. This jingle is performed in the style of a 1950’s radio jingle.

As your bonus, here’s my favorite all-time jingle (and my wife’s absolute least favorite). This one’s for Canine Carry-Outs Bacon Bites. I’ve performed in a style that mixes a little Doug Brogar with the rock voice that Trey Parker busts out occasionally.

Yes, I actually sang it this way every time.

We’ll be back next week with the last one, which is a jingle that’s forming in my head for a new bag of treats we got Stella.

Dog Jingle Thursday - Oops!

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Due to circumstances… oh, who am I kidding. I got sidetracked beating the Devil on Guitar Hero III (only on Easy… I don’t totally rule yet) and didn’t get down to the basement to record tonight’s dog treat jingle. It was a good one too.

I’ll record it and post it in a couple of days. I’m sure you were really looking forward to it too.

Instead, I’ll share a couple of interesting books that I’m going to be picking up for Nathan, my son who is due in January.

Robin and I Iove sushi, so we’ll be taking the boy out to sushi restaurants on a fairly regular basis. This book will be good to begin getting him used to the wonderful shapes and colors of different pieces of sushi.

This one’s just fun. And, honestly it’s really more for mom and dad than it is baby (if at all), but I think the idea of it is funny. And after all, it’s never too early to teach kids to mix a proper cocktail. :)
