In the spirit of the 140 character limit of Twitter, I present a great article on why Twitter matters in today’s social media landscape.

I was rummaging through archived files last night, putting the finishing touches on my online museum of old site designs when I ran across a video file in a version of my site from the year 2000 that is most definitely a video blog (vlog) post.

I’ve talked about the fact that I was a “vlogger” years before the practice was popular, but I finally found proof of it. I also love the subject matter… smells transmitted over the Internet. I also love that the company mentioned in the video still has a presence and still believes they’ll be pumping scents down the pipe in the near future.

Anyway, check out the video and you tell me… first vlogger or not?

I used to be the king of the mix tape. Rob Gordon had nothing on me. My wife can attest to that. She received many a mix tape in her mailbox when she was in high school.

Practicing the art of putting together the perfect mix tape was the most fulfilling part of making them for me, and you can imagine the giddiness I felt when I ran across Muxtape last week.

Muxtape is a site that allows you to put together MP3 “mix tapes” to share with others in the muxtape community as well as with the world at large. Like a particular mix? Favorite it, or subscribe to it via RSS.

The site is very simple and minimalistic, but that’s what makes it work in my opinion. I look forward to seeing how this site develops, and even more so, I look forward to making some muxtapes of my own. I’ve had a few music-based posts that I’ve wanted to do here for a year or two but just never had the best way to pull them off. With muxtape, I can make those posts a reality.
