Class of 3000
A few months ago, I heard stirrings of Outkast’s Andre 3000 working on an animated series for [adult swim]. Today I find that the show, Class of 3000 will actually be on Cartoon Network proper and is a show geared towards kids.
I’m actually glad that it turned out this way. Even for all the wild ideas and places I felt that Andre 3000 would have been able to take us on an [adult swim] series, the plot line of Class of 3000 sounds like a great, positive thing.
In the show, music superstar Sunny Bridges (based heavily off Mr. 3000 himself I’d guess) sheds the spotlight and stardom to become a music teacher in the ATL. His class is a culturally diverse bunch, and I imagine together they learn life lessons while practicing music.
With so many schools giving music and art programs the axe when cutting corners, it’s good to have fine arts education as the focal point of a TV show.
Class of 3000 premieres Nov. 3rd at 7pm Eastern on the Cartoon Network.
