Hearts for Vimeo
Lately I’ve become far more enamored with Vimeo as a service.
Its design is far better than YouTube, and the obvious differentiator is that it allows HD video uploads.
The content overall seems to have more thought behind it as well. Where YouTube seems to be the dumping ground of throwaway antics caught on camera phone, higher production value possibilities on Vimeo begets better stories.
Drawbacks are a 500 megabyte daily upload limit (only a problem if you do HD), and of course there’s not as much content for a far smaller user base.
In the end though, I think I can sum it up by saying that YouTube may have the eyeballs but Vimeo has the heart and mind.
I’m a fan of Vimeo, and I’m certainly rooting for it.
