I captured my video on an 8mm Sony Handycam and then captured into the computer using an Iomega Buz. I edited in Adobe Premiere, exported to Quicktime and then used Media Cleaner Pro to compress two Windows Media files, one optimized for 56k (!) and another for 300k. After that, I'd just upload the files to my server and link them up on my "pure drivel" page that I maintained on my site until 2001 or so. Eventually page went away and became this blog some time in 2003. The overall process was pretty crude.
