Retrievr is an impressive Flash-based drawing tool that lets you find Flickr images by drawing rough sketches of them.

It’s incredibly interesting how this works. For the most part, the image recognition doesn’t return any results that are terribly close to the sketch that you make, but some of the ways the Retrievr engine interprets the data makes for some cool and unexpected returns. Make sure to sketch in color. The black and white photo returns are nice, but color interpretation was what fascinated me the most.
